Hands down 2020 has been one of the most challenging years that I can remember.  We have all of the life challenges that are present in our lives and then those have been combined with the Pandemic and the catastrophic fires.  So much loss, devastation, and sorrow to cope with for each and every one of us.  But I am an eternal optimist and feel that we will solider on through each crisis both personally and professionally.

Optimism!

And an important part of why optimism is taking center stage at MLF is due to the love, support and kindness that has been demonstrated throughout our county, and so deeply here at MLF.  Combine that with the heroics of our firefighters, their support system, and our county officials and we have all of the ingredients to move forward.

One of the many aspects of managing loss is to concentrate on what we can control—which is not much!  But our own behavior is really the only element in life that we have the power to change.  Therefore, the success of our health, fitness and wellness lies in each of our hands.  The path is sometimes convoluted but we can stay the course and find that place in the sun where we are healthy and fit and happy.

On that note, we are focusing upon the future!  To address so many that have suffered unimaginable losses, we will be offering a wellness, relaxation, and stress reduction program.  We are still ironing out the details but will keep you posted on the timing.  This will be an opportunity to de-stress, experience a safe, calm, and quiet environment and to practice stress-reduction management techniques and strategies.

As I pen this note to you, we are still in the midst of our 2020 Ski Preparation Program and it has been going so great this year.  It is a huge success every year, but this year, with all of the added elements we must cope with, all participants have been so immersed in the program, feeling so much gratitude to have a place to be “apart together” and to prepare for the 2021 winter sports season.

When we complete the ski prep program, we will be adding a Thursday 5:45PM HIIT program that Dani, our newest wonderful trainer will be coaching.  We welcome Dani and her family to our amazing county and are looking forward to her bringing all of her knowledge, energy, and passion for training to MLF—welcome Dani!

We have expanded our operation hours on Fridays to 7PM from 3PM so those of you that are fitness floor fans now have a few more hours available for training.  We also have resumed our 7AM Short Cycle on Wednesdays this week as well.  So, baby steps toward some further normalcy—hope springs eternal!

In this issue of our quarterly newsletter you will find a video of Dani demonstrating proper use of the rower and a bio on her and her training career which is impressive.  Additionally, there will be nutrition tips and healthy recipes as well as several articles on wellness, health, and fitness.

Thank you for your continued support and patronage and we are excited to train you into the New Year!

Cheers,

Jackie
